FLUSHING, NY - The John Jay women's tennis team welcomed Purchase College to the USTA National Tennis Center on Friday evening for the second match of a four-match homestand. The Bloodhounds were held scoreless by their non-conference foe, as the Panthers went on to win 9-0. John Jay falls to 2-5 on the season, while Purchase improves to 4-3 on the year. 

Purchase earned three points in doubles play, with the team of sophomore Sarina Moi and freshman Rafaella Rybalko shining despite an 8-4 loss. 

Moi followed that up by taking her singles match to three sets, before ultimately falling 6-4, 4-6, 10-4. Sophomore Dakota Himaya forced a tiebreak in the first set at the third singles spot, but ultimately came up just short of the win. 

The Bloodhounds will return to CUNYAC action on Tuesday, October 11 when Brooklyn College comes to town for a midweek matinee. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
