BROOKLYN, NY - Women's basketball dropped a CUNYAC contest to the Brooklyn College Bulldogs at the West Quad Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday evening. John Jay drops to 10-7 (5-2 CUNYAC) on the year, while Brooklyn improves to 14-2 (8-0 CUNYAC) on the season.
The Bulldogs blitzed out of the gate and scored 23 points in the first quarter, and 44 in the first half, and the Bloodhounds couldn't recover. John Jay outscored Brooklyn in the fourth quarter, 14-11, but it wasn't enough to overcome the double-digit halftime deficit.
Junior
Bobbi Green scored a team-high 18 points with five assists and three rebounds in the loss. Junior
Katie Healy collected another double-double, totaling 16 points and 11 rebounds along with six assists and three steals. Freshmen
Jordyn Ruiz and
Ashley Zeolla combined for 15 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
The Bloodhounds close out their brief two-game roadtrip with a game in Jamaica, NY against York College on Thursday, February 3. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
