JAMAICA, NY - Women's basketball put an end to its two game losing streak on Thursday evening, defeating York College, 59-48, to earn the season sweep over the Cardinals. With the win, John Jay improves to 11-7 (6-2 CUNYAC) on the season, while York falls to 5-10 (3-4 CUNYAC) on the year.
It was a rough start for the Bloodhounds, as they fell behind by 14 at the end of the first quarter. However, John Jay did not quit and immediately struck back with a 20-point second quarter to cut the deficit to just four at halftime. The Bloodhounds would outscore the Cardinals in the third and fourth quarters as well, en route to the 11-point win.

Katie Healy matched her career-high with a game-high 24 rebounds to go with 13 points for another double-double. Junior
Bobbi Green scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Freshman
Ashley Zeolla collected 16 points and eight rebounds. Freshmen
Ashley Nieves,
Jordyn Ruiz, and
Ayanna Edwards combined for 12 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
