FARMINGDALE, NY -- The baseball team lost two games to Old Westbury on Monday afternoon. The Bloodhounds dropped the front end of the doubleheader, 10-4, and then lost the second game of the day, 9-2. John Jay falls to 0-10 on the season, while Old Westbury improves to 2-7 on the year.
Freshman
Juan Maldonado started game one for the Bloodhounds and chucked five innings while batting cleanup and smacking two hits and an RBI. Freshman
Ivan Massari reached base safely twice, scored a run, and knocked in a run. Sophomore
Michael Manzoeillo had two hits.
Freshman
Marc Weeks took the hill for John Jay in game two and went 3.2 innings striking out five. Senior
Christopher Nunez reached base safely three times with two singles and a walk. Manzoeillo had another hit and stole a base. Massari reached base safely two more times and scored a run. Maldonado had a hit and an RBI.
The Bloodhounds will take on Mount Saint Vincent in a road game at Diamond Nation on Wednesday, March 16. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
