LANGHORNE, PA -- The softball team dropped a non-conference contest, 2-0, to Cairn University on Thursday afternoon in Pennsylvania. The Bloodhounds fall to 2-5 on the season while Cairn improves to 3-9 on the year.
This game was a pitchers duel, as both starters fired complete games. Sophomore
America Rivera toed the rubber for John Jay and fired six innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out two.

Julianne Graepel both went 1-3 with a stolen base. Junior
Nicole Lopez and freshman
Emily Sperl also had a hit. Besides her work on the mound, Rivera went 1-3 at the plate.
The Bloodhounds will return to the field tomorrow when they take on York College in their CUNYAC opening doubleheader. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Bellerose.
