BROOKLYN, NY -- The baseball team took on NYU in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 5, but was swept by the Violets, losing game one 20-7 and then losing game two 8-0. John Jay drops to 0-6 on the season while NYU improves to 2-0 on the year.
The Bloodhounds offense had its best showing of the early part of the season in game one, putting up a season-high seven runs. Freshmen

Ethan Simaan each had two hits and combined for two walks, two runs scored, and two runs batted in. Freshman
Anthony Agosta had a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. Freshman Juan Maldanado was on the hill and went 4.2 innings and allowed two earned runs with one strikeout.
John Jay was shutout in game two, but Mauro and sophomore
Ismael Tatis each had a base knock. Tatis also had a walk and a stolen base. Freshman
Joseph Salerno worked a walk. Freshman
Matthew Brennan started and went 3.1 innings with two strikeouts and one earned run.
The Bloodhounds will seek their first win of the season on Saturday, March 12 when they host St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn at Maimonides Park for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
