NEW YORK, NY -- The softball team lost a pair of games to Hunter College on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds lost a close game one, 6-5, and then couldn't bounce back and wound up losing game two, 3-1. John Jay falls to 4-7 (2-2 CUNYAC) on the year while Hunter improves to 5-7 (2-0 CUNYAC) on the year.
The Bloodhounds scored the first run of the day in the top of the first thanks to an RBI from junior
Julianne Graepel. Hunter immediately took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first, but John Jay scored two runs in the top of the fourth to move back in front. The Bloodhounds led, 5-2 in the final inning, but the Hawks rallied for four runs to win the game in the bottom of the seventh. Freshman
Rylea Sandel followed up her massive performance yesterday by driving in John Jay's lone run of game two after a homer in game one.

Angelina Schoelles went 3-6 with an RBI double and a stolen base. Graepel pitched a complete game in game two, allowing no earned runs and striking out four.
The Bloodhounds have a few days off and then will return to the field on Wednesday, April 6 for a road doubleheader against University of Saint Joseph. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
