PURCHASE, NY -- The John Jay women's tennis team opened the 2022 season with a hard-fought victory over the Manhattanville College Valiants. The Bloodhounds took down the Valiants, 5-4, on Tuesday evening to improve to 1-0 on the season, while Manhattanville fell to 0-1 on the year.
In the first doubles spot, the duo of sophomore
Sarina Moi and freshman
Rafaella Rybalko gave John Jay its first point of the day with an 8-3 victory. The Bloodhounds would enter singles with a 2-1 lead after also securing a point on a forfeit.
Rybalko had a perfect day, securing a win in the second singles slot to give John Jay its third point of the evening. Wins by sophomore

Kenya Kisson in singles matchups also earned points for the Bloodhounds to help secure the 5-4 victory.
John Jay's next match will be on Tuesday, September 20 when the Bloodhounds will host Yeshiva. John Jay's home opener is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
