FLUSHING, NY -- The women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the 2022 season on Tuesday evening, losing 6-3 to Yeshiva in the team's home opener at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-1 on the year while the Maccabees improve to 3-3 on the season.
Freshman
Rafaella Rybalko followed up on her CUNYAC Rookie of the Week performance in last week's match with another solid match tonight which saw her earn a victory in both doubles and singles play.
Sophomore
Sarina Moi also tallied two points, teaming up with Rybalko to win a doubles match, than winning her singles match 2-0 (6-1, 6-0).
Sophomore
Dakota Himaya went to battle in the third singles slot to try and keep John Jay in the match, but after a hard-fought game she came out just short (6-7, 4-6).
John Jay's next match will be on Friday, September 23 when the Bloodhounds will hit the road and travel to Danbury, CT to take on Western Connecticut State. The match is schedulde to begin at 3:30 p.m.
