Allentown, PA - Senior midfielder Katie Healy netted her team-leading third goal of the season as the John Jay women's soccer team defeated Cedar Crest, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bloodhounds move to 3-1-1 on the season and now run their unbeaten streak to three straight (2-0-1). The Eagles fall to 2-3-1.

Today's victory marked the first win for John Jay over Cedar Crest (1-5).

The visitors controlled the tempo of the contest in the early moments of the contest, as Mikayla Schoch sent a shot wide of the goal before sending one on target that was turned away by Cedar Crest's Lauren Makely.

John Jay stepped up for the corner kick in the 12th minutes as Galicia Monforte sent the ball into the box. Healy was able to outleap her defender but her header attempt sailed high over the net.

On the next Bloodhound possession, Healy was able to fire off a shot, but Makely was there to make the stop, preserving the tie at 0-0.

The visitors continued their offensive barrage, as in the 20th minute, Brooke Fontaine sent a shot that was blocked but three minutes later, Leylah Murad's chance was also denied by Makely.

John Jay broke through in the 28th minute. On the second corner kick, Fontaine was able to send the ball into the box that found the foot of Healy, who was able to put on past Makely.

For Healy, it marked her third goal of the season. Additionally, it was the 36th career goal of her four-year career and now stands at 99 career points (36 goals, 27 assists, 99 points).

When play resumed for the second half, the Bloodhounds continued to apply pressure as Murad sent a shot attempt, but Makely made the stop.
