Women's Tennis Concludes Non-Conference Slate With 8-1 Road Victory At Albertus Magnus On Wednesday

New Haven, CT - The John Jay women's tennis team concluded their non-conference portion of their schedule, as the Bloodhounds defeated Albertus Magnus on the road, 8-1, on Wednesday afternoon. 
 
With the victory, John Jay improves to 6-4 on the season while the Falcons fall to 1-9 on the season. 
 
Coach's Corner | Head Coach David Muchnick - "Today was more than just a bounce back win for our program, it was a continuation of our positive play from yesterday, regardless of the result. We are very happy where our mindset is heading into Senior Day and the regular season finale Friday against Hunter. Hopefully it will carry us moving into next week's CUNYAC tournament." 
 
The Bloodhounds took all three doubles decisions by an 8-1 count. 
 
In singles action, Antigone Alexander outlasted JuJu Oliver at No. 1 singles, 8-4, for her fifth singles win this season. At No. 2, Sarina Moi picked up an 8-1 triumph over Giana Cagna while teammate Dakota Himaya also was victorious by an 8-1 count over Tori Walsh at No. 3. 
 
Albertus Magnus earned their lone win at No. 4 as Naomi Rose Allen defeated Cindy Lliguicota, 8-1. Gloria Glenn picked up her second straight singles win and fourth of the season as she bested Molly Martin, 8-3, at No. 5.
 
Rounding out the performances for the Bloodhounds was Manuela Orrego outlasted Moira O'Brien, 8-5, at No. 6. 
 
John Jay concludes the 2023 regular-season on Friday, October 20, as the Bloodhounds will take on Hunter College. 
 
Friday will also be Senior Day as the Bloodhounds will recognize their Senior Class of Dakota Himaya, Cindy Lligucota and Gloria Glenn
