New York, NY - The John Jay men's soccer team took the field against a non-conference foe on Randall's Island for the final time this season. The Bloodhounds stepped between the lines against Arcadia for the second consecutive year after two decades without a meeting.
After leading by just one goal after 45 minutes, Arcadia doubled its offensive production in the second half for a 3-0 victory.
The Knights opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Declan Kelly set up Steven Warren off a rebound opportunity and Warren finished to the back right post.
The visitors' Aidan McGrath picked up the lone card in this match; assessed a yellow card in the 29th minute.
That score held through halftime but Arcadia was back to work in short order at the start of the second half. Sean Lock fed Giancarlo Ciotoli just three minutes into half to double the advantage.
With just thirteen minutes to go, the Knights sealed their win as Jonathan Matthews created separation in the final third and iced the win with the opposition's third goal of the afternoon.
John Jay goalie Tyler Solis finished the day with six saves; his third outing this season with at least that many. The Bloodhounds' Daniel Rosa and Kevin Cantos each logged two shots on goal at the opposite end, the second most of any player.
NEXT UP: John Jay closes out the non-conference slate with a pair of road tests, facing Bryn Athyn on Friday, Sept. 22 and traveling to Danbury to face Western Connecticut State on Monday, Sept. 25.
