Women's Soccer Falls At Connecticut College On Saturday Afternoon

New London, CT - The John Jay women's soccer team dropped their non-conference road contest on Saturday, falling to Connecticut College, 3-1.

With the setback, the Bloodhounds fall to 2-3 on the year while the Camels improve to 3-3.

Connecticut College started off quickly in testing Bloodhound keeper, Lily Velo, with four shots, two of which Velo was able to make the stop on.

The Camels came up with the first tally of the match in the 12' as Morgan Plouffe collected the rebound off Mya Johnson's first shot attempt to put Connecticut up 1-0.

The Camels tested Velo for the majority of the match and capitalized in the later stages of the contest as Anna Kalapatapu that ricocheted in off the crossbar.

A minute later, Ella Gazo was able to create separation from the Bloodhounds defense and up the Conn lead to 3-0.

The visitors got on the board in the 83' as Mikayla Schoch netted her third goal of the season off the feed from Nora O'Connor. The Camels continued firing off shots but Velo came up with the stops.

Velo made a career-high 14 saves on 31 shots faced. Her counterpart, Nici Scola didn't face a shot in her 64 minutes of action. Sarah Hall came on and made one save in 17 minutes of action. Ella Kahrl gave up the lone goal.

The Bloodhounds conclude their road trip on Wednesday, September 27, as they will take on NYU in Newark, NJ at Lubetikin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Kickoff is set at 6:30 p.m.
