Men's Soccer Falters At Saint Elizabeth On Saturday Afternoon

Morristown, NJ - The John Jay men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles, 6-1, at the SEU Soccer Field. 
 
The Bloodhounds (2-1) lone goal of the contest came in the 57th minute of the contest, as Michael Akinlotan beat the goalie after receiving a one touch pass from Nicolas DiBetta
 
The Eagles (2-1-1) struck for three goals early on in the first half against Arthur Langlet. Sebastian Londono netted the first goal of the match in the 15th minute off the feed from Jaime Bimboza. 
 
Few moments later, Bryan Cervantes got the pass from Bimboza and pushed on past the reach of Langlet to extend the Eagles lead to 2-0. 
 
Just before halftime, Kevin Vasquez scored an unassisted goal that stretched the Eagles margin to three.  
 
In the opening half, Saint Elizabeth outshot John Jay, 7-2 while taking the lone set piece of the contest in the stanza. 
 
In the second half, the home team added their fourth marker four minutes into the frame as Londono registered his second goal of the contest. 
 
The forward wasn't finished for the Eagles, as he netted the hat trick, beating Tyler Solis in the 53' as Saint Elizabeth went ahead 5-0. 
 
Saint Elizabeth capped off the match with a final goal in the 86' as Franco Arteaga got the pass from Edwin Martinez and converted on the chance. 
 
The Bloodhounds continue their road trip as they will travel to Sarah Lawrence on Monday, September 11.
