Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated In CUNYAC Play; Notches Third Straight Shutout In Victory Over Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY - The John Jay women's soccer continued their winning ways on Wednesday evening, as the Bloodhounds posted their third straight shutout and fifth of the season, blanking the Brooklyn College Bulldogs, 5-0.

With the win, the Bloodhounds remain undefeated in CUNYAC play, moving to 4-0 on the season and 7-5-1 overall while the Bulldogs fall to 1-2-1 in league play and 4-8-3 on the season.

Five different Bloodhounds scored on the evening. Reigning five-time CUNYAC Player of the Week Olivia Boucher recorded her team and conference-leading 17th goal of the season. Newcomer Anna Wehr posted her fifth goal of the season.

Lucia Giangaspero and Mikayla Schoch upped their season goal-scoring totals to four while Emma Fisher netted her third of the year. Boucher and Fisher each added two assists on the night while Schoch, Morgan Torres, and Zoe Specht also added assists in the victory.

The Bloodhounds outshot the Bulldogs 13-3 and 8-0 in shots on goal on the night. Giangaspero got the scoring going for the visitors as both Boucher and Fisher contributed to the score five minutes into the match. In the 33', Wehr got the pass from Fisher and was able to finish the chance.

Midway through the second half, Boucher capitalized on an opportunity, created by both Torres and Schoch as Boucher put one past April Hartje to give John Jay a 3-0 lead. In the 76', Specht sent a feed that was corralled by Schoch for her fourth of the season.

With time ticking down, Boucher spotted Fisher, who booted one past the reach of the Brooklyn keeper to conclude the John Jay scoring.

The Bloodhounds will close out the 2024 regular season on Saturday, October 26 as they will host Lehman on Senior Day.

Kickoff from Randall's Island - Field 70 is slated for noon.
