Women's Soccer Blanks St. Joseph's University Brooklyn On Thursday Afternoon

Purchase, NY - The John Jay women's soccer team posted their second shutout of the season, as the Bloodhounds blanked St. Joseph's University Brooklyn, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon at the Purchase College Soccer Field.
 


Graduate transfer Olivia Boucher netted two goals in pacing the John Jay (2-5-1) offense on the afternoon. This marks the fourth time this season that she has recorded a multi-goal game (Old Westbury [8/31], New Jersey City [9/6], Rutgers-Camden [9/21]. Boucher is currently second in the conference in goals scored behind Lehman's Lory Castro (11).

Mikayla Schoch and Anna Wehr each netted their second goal of the season. For Schoch, it marked her 17th career goal. Emma Fisher scored her first goal of the season as did newcomer Morgan Torres and veteran midfielder Lucia Giangaspero. For Fisher, the goal was the eighth of her Bloodhound tenure and Giangaspero now stands at five career goals. 

Co-captain Ellarose Biance and Sofia Astarbi added their first tallies of the season as these goals were the third of their careers, respectively.

The Bloodhounds continue their road trip on Wednesday, October 9, as they will travel to North Adamas, MA for their first-ever meeting with Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
