North Adams, Mass. - The John Jay women's soccer team scored a second consecutive victory on Thursday night, hitting the road for a 5-2 victory over the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Trailblazers.
The Bloodhounds close out the non-schedule slate with four different names on the scoresheet, marking the program's first win in its first meeting with MCLA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Week Olivia Boucher kicked off the scoring just eight minutes into the contest, scoring her tenth goal of the season to give John Jay a 1-0 lead.
After MCLA's Catelyn Hodge drew the Trailblazers level, CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Morgan Torres put the Bloodhounds back in front on a goal set up by Daniela Vazquez and Mikayla Schoch. Her goal was her second tally of the year and gave John Jay a 2-1 lead.
The visitors held that lead into halftime, but the Trailblazers' Anna Lewis equalized just ten minutes into the second half.
Less than ten minutes after the equalizer, Emma Fisher swung the advantage back to the visitors with her second goal of the season. Fisher's tally, assisted by Sophia Arias, put the Bloodhounds in front again, 3-2.
The Bloodhounds clinched their victory in the final ten minutes of regulation, as Boucher's brace and Anna Wehr's first of the night created a three-goal cushion.
Despite a late goal by the Trailblazers, the Bloodhounds exited the Commonwealth with a 5-3 win.
Boucher's two goals and seven shots on target led all players.
Schoch led the match with two assists while Vazquez, Lucia Giangaspero, and Arias all added one of their own.
Gianna Duarte made one save in her ninety minutes of work.
NEXT UP: The Bloodhounds close out the regular season with a stretch of five CUNYAC match-ups, starting with a road contest against CCNY on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 12:00 p.m.
