TOP DOGS! Women's Volleyball Secures Program's First CUNYAC Title, Defeats Top-Seed Hunter, 3-1

New York, NY - For the first time in the history of the John Jay women's volleyball program, the Bloodhounds are champions!

The No. 2 seed Bloodhounds upset the top seed, Hunter College Hawks, 3-1 (25-17, 25-11, 21-25, 25-22).

The historic achievement marked the first-ever victory over Hunter since the two teams began playing each other in 1994 when John Jay was previously 0-38 against the Hawks.

For the Bloodhounds, this marked the second-straight trip to the championship match after falling to the Hawks, 3-1, a season ago. John Jay reached the finals four times, the first two coming in 2017 and 2018, and both were against Hunter.

John Jay moves to 22-6 on the season and will await to hear their names called on Selection Monday at 1:00 p.m. Hunter concludes the year at 21-9 and is the regular-season champions with a 7-0 conference mark.
