Cambridge, MA - Concluding a busy weekend, the John Jay rifle team took two wins in both disciplines against SUNY Plattsburgh and US Coast Guard but fell to the host, MIT, 4428-4274.
Danny Canning continued her hot shooting, finishing second overall with 1124, four points behind Eleanor Yang of MIT.
Kaitlyn Ayers placed sixth overall with a 1068, while JB Zhao and
Rochelle Redwood each shot 1041 to place seventh and eighth, respectively, while
Bryan Gomez rounded out the top-ten performers at 1028.
In smallbore, Canning fired 549 while hitting 13 centers to finish second. Ayers placed sixth with a 522 with Redwood (501), Zhao (500), and Gomez (491), which was a personal best.
Maria Belov also shot two personal-best with a 462 in smallbore while firing off an impressive 556 in air rifle, finishing sixth in the discipline.
The Bloodhounds' total aggregate of 4274 bested both SUNY Plattsburgh's total (4,053) and US Coast Guard's total of (3,971).
John Jay will be back in action on December 7 as they will host Maritime on Senior Day. Between the two disciplines, the Bloodhounds will honor their three seniors - Natalia Alegerbas,
Sixmeiry Jimenez Ortiz, and
Rochelle Redwood.
