Lexington, VA - The John Jay rifle team traveled to Lexington, VA on Saturday as they competed against both VMI's mixed and women's teams in addition to Wofford.

The Bloodhounds placed fourth with an aggregate of 4302 (2095 in small bore, 2207 in air rifle) while hitting 101 centers.

VMI's mixed rifle team claimed first, hitting 4586 (2267 in small bore, 2319 in air rifle) while connecting on 212 centers. The women's program finished second at 4563 followed by Wofford at 4487.

Danny Canning continued to put up impressive numbers, as she was among the top 10 individuals in the meet, finishing ninth overall with a total aggregate of 1125.

Canning paced John Jay in smallbore, firing a score of 548, as she hit 16 centers.
Rochelle Redwood was next at 527 (9 centers). Rounding the performances in smallbore was
Kaitlyn Ayers (526 | 8 centers),
Sixmeiry Jimenez Ortiz (494 |3 centers), JB Zhao (481 | 7 centers),
Bryan Gomez (481 | 3 centers) and
Maria Belov (438 | 2 centers).

In air rifle, Canning finished seventh overall with a new season-high of 577, hitting 21 centers.

Belov shot 547 (18 centers) followed by Ayers at 544 (17 centers). Redwood finished at 539 (9 centers) with Ortiz next at 532 (14 centers). Gomez (527 | 9 centers) and Zhao (519 | 6 centers) rounded out the Bloodhound performances.
