Jordan Evelyn was the third Bloodhound to reach double-figures, scoring 12 points on 5 of 10 shooting while pulling in six rebounds.

Stephon McGill was a point shy of a double-double, ending with nine points and ten rebounds.

The two teams traded baskets in the early portion of the contest before Cardi found his stride, spearheading a 14-5 run in which he tallied eight points during the five-minute run as the visitors led 21-14.

The Bulldogs trio of McFadden, Charles, and Thraysbule sparked an 8-4 run to get back to within three, 25-22, at the 7:08 mark, as Charles drilled a three-pointer.

Both teams shot efficiently down the stretch, with John Jay outscoring Brooklyn 18-13 over the final 7:07 to take a 43-35 lead as Miller rattled in a three-pointer just before the horn sounded.

The Bloodhounds shot 53.8 percent in the opening half, hitting 64.3 percent from three-point range.

Brooklyn opened the second half as both teams struggled over the first four minutes despite John Jay holding a 48-41 lead.

The visitors added to their advantage, staging a 14-8 run over a 3:30 span that saw the lead swell to 62-49 after Miller hit from outside again.
