Rifle Splits Sunday's Tri-Match With Maritime And University of Rhode Island

Greenwich, CT - The John Jay rifle team split their Sunday's meet against Maritime and the University of Rhode Island. 

The Bloodhounds posted an aggregate score of 4,253 to place second. The Rams took both disciplines with a total score of 4,445, while Maritime fired 3,917.

In smallbore, the University of Rhode Island shot 2,189 while the Bloodhounds were next at 2,043. Danny Canning scored the third highest in the discipline, finishing at 549.

Kaitlyn Ayers was the next-highest John Jay finisher at 509. Rochelle Redwood shot 499, and Sixmeiry Jimenez Ortiz rounded out the shooting at 486.

In air rifle, Canning posted the top score at 581. Ayers was next at 547, while Maria Belov and Redwood each finished at 541.

The Bloodhounds will look towards the NCAA Qualifier on February 22, when they will shoot against the Navy in Annapolis, MD, at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range.
