Following a scoreless top half of the first, the Panthers loaded the bases with two outs as Martinez reached on a fielding error, followed by a single through the left side by Manetta and a hit-by-pitch to Papageorge. The next batter, Petrucelly popped up to Anzalone at first, as Mauro escaped potential danger.
