Michael Mauro struck out and the bases were left loaded as John Spallin grounded out to first to end the inning.

FDU-Florham scored thrice on four hits in the bottom of the third in taking a 5-0 lead. Hendershot reached on a bunt single before moving to second on an infield base hit by Rolli.

A successful double steal moved the runners into scoring position before Aber flew out to right field as Hendershot tagged up on the sacrifice fly, making it 3-0. Santos added a run-scoring single through the left side that extended the lead to 4-0. Giovenco doubled home Santos on a deep drive to left centerfield that scored Santos as the Devils' advantage increased to 5-0.
