Santiago struck out Natalie Kola for her seventh punch-out of the contest. The consecutive strikeout streak ended when Nicole Lopez lined back to Santiago. Figueroa walked before Perez got the first hit off Santiago, a double, but Figueroa was thrown out at the plate.

The Albany, NY native Santiago restarted her punch-out streak, fanning the next six batters before Lopez popped out to Sandel at short. Figueroa had the second hit for Lehman, but was thrown out trying to extend it to a double.

Santiago fanned Pat Sanchez and Espina to end the contest.
