Bronx, NY - The John Jay women's tennis team fell on Monday afternoon to the Lehman College Lightning, 8-1, in a CUNYAC matchup from the APEX Tennis Center.
With the result, the Bloodhounds fall to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in league play while the Lightning move to 3-6 and even their conference mark at 2-2.
Lehman swept the doubles matchup, despite the pairing of
Kayla Saintard and
Manuela Orrego putting forth a valiant effort at No. 2 doubles, falling by a 9-7 count.
Rose Azzu earned the lone point for the Bloodhounds on the afternoon, getting past Elizabeth Nlemchukwu, 6-4; 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
John Jay will open the month of October on Tuesday as they will play host to the Mount Saint Mary Knights.
