Bronx, NY - The John Jay men's soccer team notched its first CUNYAC win of the 2025 season, netting three second-half goals en route to a 4-2 road triumph at Lehman on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bloodhounds move to 2-8-1 overall and 1-0-1 in league play while handing Lehman its first loss of the year, as the Lightning move to 4-1-3 overall and 0-1-1.

The Bloodhounds tested Lehman's Matthew Strainz early, as Sekou Sheriff sent a shot to the upper right, which he was able to stop in the fifth minute.Three minutes later, Lehman had its first chance as Joshua Banegas tested Davio Rossilevin, who made the stop.

The Lightning struck first in the 11th as Koky Duarte converted off the assist from Brandon Dennis as Lehman led 1-0. The visitors got on the board off the strike from Sekou Sheriff in the 22nd minute, as the freshman midfielder notched his first collegiate goal and evened the match at 1-1.

The Bloodhounds wasted little time in finding the go-ahead score two minutes into the second half as Josh Brayan beat Strainz after getting the feed from Helmer Herrera in the 48'. A minute later, Helmer nearly gave the visitors a two-goal advantage, but Strainz was there for the stop.

In the 55', Lance Brdaric had a chance, sending a low-lining shot that found the waiting arms of Rossilevin. In the 63', newcomer Eden Chaftzadi converted off the feed from Sheriff as the Bloodhounds increased its lead to 3-1 on Chaftzadi second goal of the season.

Three minutes later, Lehman narrowed the gap to 3-2 on Duarte's second goal of the match, with Brdaric being credited with the assist. Dennis looked for the tying marker, but Rossilevin was there for the denial in the 71'. Duarte nearly had a hat-trick, but his attempt was guided right of the target.

The Bloodhounds tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th as Chaftzadi notched his second goal of the match. Lehman had two final chances to get back into the contest as Ahmed Owusu sent an attempt in the 85' and just as time expired, Cyrus Blake booted a last-chance attempt that Rossilevin stopped.

The Bloodhounds were outshot 12-9 despite holding an 8-7 advantage on shots on target. Rossilevin made five stops in the contest while his counterpart, Strainz, made four saves.

John Jay will look to continue their unbeaten streak in conference on Wednesday, October 8 as they will host Brooklyn on Randall's Island - Field 70 at 4:00 p.m.
