Women's Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak To Three Straight With 1-0 Road Triumph In Non-Conference Finale At Anna Maria

Paxton, MA - The John Jay women's soccer team concluded its non-conference slate with a 1-0 road victory at Anna Maria College on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Bloodhounds move to 5-2-3 on the season while the Amcats fall to 1-8-2 on the season. Wednesday marked the first-ever meeting between the two institutions.

The fixture's only goal came in the 11th minute off the foot of John Jay's Ava Lopez, who finished at that net after getting the feed from Tallulah Nemet-Sargent.

The Bloodhounds outshot the Amcats, 28-3, with 12 shots on goal and didn't allow Anna Maria to record a shot on target.

Anna Maria's keeper, Brooke Austin, made 11 saves. John Jay's Anina Gut played all 90 minutes for her first win in net.

Sofia Soler led the way with seven shots while CUNYAC Player of the Week, Natalie Mack, recorded five shots. Lopez, Soler, and Mack each had three shots on goal.

The defending CUNYAC champions open up league play on Saturday, October 11, as they travel to the Bronx to tangle with last season's runner-ups, Lehman, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
