CLOUD 9! Defending CUNYAC Women's Soccer Champions Return To Title Match Following 9-0 Shutout Against No. 4 Lehman In Semifinals

New York, NY - The defending CUNYAC women's soccer champions, the John Jay Bloodhounds, will return to the championship match to defend their crown as they defeated the No. 4 seed Lehman, 9-0, in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon from Randall's Island Field 74.

With the win, the Bloodhounds move to 10-2-3 overall and will face the No. 3 seed, CCNY, which upset the No. 2 seed, Brooklyn College, 2-0, in the second semifinal. Lehman finishes the season at 1-13-0.

The Bloodhounds notched the fixture's first goal 14 minutes in as freshman Ava Lopez collected a feed from midfield and buried a left-footed finish, with tri-captain Daniela Vazquez and Tallulah Nemet-Sargent.

John Jay took complete control of the contest, netting eight second-half tallies, with Lopez completing the hat-trick a mere 42 seconds apart from her second goal.

Natalie Mack got the scoring going in the second half, finding the back of the net off the feed from Lopez.

In the 70s, senior Emma Fisher netted the first of her two goals after Mack and Amiyah Milona combined on the assist. In the 76', tri-captain Katy Shurson converted off the cross from Priana Lazerson for the goal. Two minutes later, Fisher was fouled in the box. She stepped up and pushed on past Lehman's Katelyn Rice.

In the 85, the CUNYAC Player of the Week, Lillith Eaton, notched her second goal of the season after getting the pass from Shurson and Lazerson.

The final marker came in the 87th minute when Annmarie Russo put in the final marker after Soler found Lazerson, who set up Russo for the final tally.

The Bloodhounds peppered 68 total shots during the match, with 32 of those finding their way on target.

Rice made 23 saves for Lehman on the afternoon. Gianna Duarte, who started the second half, made one stop.

The 2025 CUNYAC Women's Soccer Championship will be contested on Saturday, November 8 on the campus of York College at 11:30 a.m.
