New York, NY - The John Jay women's basketball team concluded 2025 with a 90-56 setback to the visiting Farmingdale State University Rams at the Doghouse on Tuesday evening.
Miah Crockett led the way for the Bloodhounds with 15 points on 6 of 17 shooting from the field, while
Natalie Simonds added a season-best 13 points, hitting on a career-high 9 of 12 from the charity stripe.
Five Rams finished in double-figures, led by 18 points apiece from Mia Simmons and Emily Tsiforas, who combined to shoot 13 of 25 from the field. Tsiforas added seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block while Simmons had four assists and a team-high three steals.
Brianna Amenta had 14 points while Shyann Parker flirted with a triple-double, going for 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting, pulling down a team-high 16 rebounds while dishing out eight assists in her 35 minutes of work. Alana Henry added 12 points in 16 minutes of play.
John Jay withstood an early Farmingdale run, as the Rams opened the game on a 5-0 run before
Morgan Kimmi and Crockett added buckets for the Bloodhounds. The Rams then staged a 13-5 run to take an 18-9 lead before
Alexis Jones made one of two from the line with 25 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Jones opened the second quarter with a floating jumper that rattled in as the Bloodhounds cut the deficit to 18-12. The visitors built up a 32-18 lead thanks to a 14-6 run with Parker scoring five of the points. The Bloodhounds finished the quarter scoring nine of the final 14 points but trailed 37-27.
The Rams opened the second half on a 15-8 run, extending their lead to 54-35 following a floating jumpshot from Parker. Farmingdale State converted on 7 of 16 from the field over the 4:34 span.
The Rams staged a bigger run to close out the third quarter, as they ended the third on an 18-8 burst over the last four minutes of the third to increase their lead to 72-43.
Kailani Galan opened the scoring in the fourth with a layup. The Rams outscored John Jay, 18-11, over the remainder of the quarter in holding the 90-56 lead.
For the game, the Bloodhounds were held to 29.7 percent from the field while Farmingdale State hit on 42.9.
John Jay returns to the court in 2026 as they will host the University of Mount Saint Vincent on January 3.
