New York, NY - The John Jay rifle team secured a 2258-1903 home win over the Maritime Privateers on Saturday in the annual Big Apple Classic at the John Jay Rifle Range.
In between Saturday's air rifle competition, the Bloodhounds recognized their Senior Class -
Danny Canning, JB Zhao,
Bryan Gomez, and
Kaitlyn Ayers.

Mahek Dalwala led the way for the Bloodhounds, firing a 578 while hitting 30 centers. Canning was next at 571 with 27 centers, while
Maria Belov (554-18 centers), Zhao posted a 547 (14 centers), and Gomez shot a 544 (14 centers).
Maritime was paced by Sarath Peddapalli, who fired a 508 (9 centers), followed by Abigal Wells (495, 6 Â centers), Nike Bennett (493, 3 centers), David Tachie (407, 2 centers), and Zachary Peltz (374, 1 center) as the designated top-five shooters for the Privateers. Alan Lanoie shot a 321 (1 center).
Before Saturday's Big Apple Classic, several Bloodhounds shot as
Allana Dan posted a score of 555 (16 centers), followed by
Cassidy Derosia (547, 14 centers).
Elaine Yue (540, 12 centers), Noelia Gonzalez (530, 9 centers),
Fatiha Jalal (501, 6 centers), Hayley Goldstein (500, 7 centers), and
Albina Khabibullina (487, 4 centers) rounded out the shooters for John Jay.
The Bloodhounds will square off against the Privateers and the University of Rhode Island on Sunday, December 7, at the Cos Cob Gun & Rifle Club in Greenwich, CT, in both smallbore and air rifle.
