Annapolis, MD - The John Jay rifle team competed at No. 9 ranked Navy on Saturday, falling to the Midshipmen, 4717-4296 at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range in the NCAA Qualifier.

The NCAA Qualifier match is key as the match accounts for 50 percent of each team's score toward qualification for the national tournament that is set to be hosted by the University of Kentucky on March 14-15.

The other half of a team's NCAA qualification total is made up of the respective team's top-three scores from the season at three different locations.

Additionally, the top individual shooters that are not on a qualified roster will earn bids to the NCAA Championships to compete as individuals. The 2025 National Collegiate Rifle Selection Show will air Monday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.

Danny Canning led the way for the Bloodhounds, finishing with an 1121 aggregate score. She posted an 547 in smallbore to go along with 574 in air rifle.

Kaitlyn Ayers was next, posting a 1095 aggregate tally, firing 528 in smallbore and 567 in air rifle.

JB Zhao fired a 1050 aggregate, hitting 556 in air rifle.
Sixmeiry Jimenez Ortiz was next at 1044 with
Bryan Gomez finishing with a total score of 1036.

Maria Belov and
Rochelle Redwood each fired 1021 with Redwood hitting 500 in smallbore and Belov a 551 in air rifle. Â
