The Knights got on the board as Parisa led off the game with a triple to center field as Calvario sent a sacrifice fly to center, plating home Parisa for the 1-0 lead. John Jay wasted little time responding and scoring thrice. A pitch hit Jaxen Gangwish to start the game. He came into score on the ground-rule double to left by Anzalone. Bowman singled to left, bringing in Anzalone as John Jay took a 2-1 lead. A failed pickoff attempt by Pisseri allowed Bowman to score from second as the Bloodhounds went ahead by two.

The Bloodhounds added two more runs in the bottom of the second, going ahead 5-1. Cherichella, Anzalone, and Bowman reached on a single before Sebastian Sanchez drew a bases-loaded walk, upping the lead to 4-1. Following a pitching change by the visitors, Tackett reached on fielder's choice that scored Anzalone.

Mount Saint Mary got one back in the top of the third as Volk sent an RBI single that scored Tyler Van De Bogart. Jost settled in, getting a strike out and a pop out to second to end the threat.

John Jay continued to build on their momentum as Agosta led off the inning with a double to left center field. Lucas Perez drew a walk before Gangwish singled home Agosta, as the Bloodhounds led 6-2. Bowman added another RBI to his ledger, sending a deep drive to center field that Perez tagged up and scored, giving the Bloodhounds a five-run cushion.

The Knights staged a comeback in the top of the fifth, trimming the deficit to two, 7-5. Luke Barone reached on an error by Gangwish before Marshall tripled him home. Kelly sent a double to left before he came around to score on an Anderson single two batters later.

John Jay's bats remained hot as they scored three in the bottom of the inning, doubling the score to 10-5. Three straight walks to Gangwish, Cherichella, and Anzalone loaded the bases for the Wappingers Falls native [Bowman]. Ahead in the count 1-0, he ripped a single to center field that plated both Gangwish and Cherichella. Two batters later, Ethan Simaan turned on the first pitch he saw, scoring Anzalone.

Following a scoreless sixth inning, the Bloodhounds added two more in the bottom of the seventh, as Anzalone scored on a wild pitch before Tackett sent a sac-fly to right field, plating home Bowman.

Kappes III came on for Jost to start the top of the eighth. Calvario singled on the first he saw from Kappes III. Van De Bogart flew out short, as Tackett ran a long way for the first out. The next batter, Barone, sent a hot shot to Gangwish, who turned the 5-4-3, inning-ending double play.

John Jay added one more run to the board as Bowman connected on his fifth RBI of the game, sending a single that scored Cherichella. Kappes III faced little trouble, retiring the Knights in order on just five pitches.
