Softball Splits Non-Conference Tilt At Farmingdale State On Tuesday

Farmingdale, NY - The John Jay softball team split its midweek tilt at Farmingdale State, blanking the Rams 5-0 in game one before falling 2-0 in game two.

John Jay starter Lindsay Ogden went four innings without allowing a hit until the bottom of the fifth but was able to keep the Rams off the board as the Bloodhounds earned a 5-0 win in game one.

Ogden moved to 9-4 on the season, tossing the complete game shutout while walking one and striking out five batters.

Kendal Bryant had three hits while Rylea Sandel and Angelina Schoelles each had two hits. CUNYAC Player of the Week Olivia Paoli drive in two RBIs in the victory.

Samantha Stolfi and Madison Sturtz had the lone hits for the Rams. Deanna Ebert took the loss.

Following a scoreless first, John Jay got on the board in the top of the second. Bryant led off with a single before Alyssa Cadolino reached on an error. Both runners executed a double steal with Bryant scoring to make it 1-0.

Two batters later, Schoelles singled up the middle that plated home Cadolino for the 2-0 lead.

With Ogden cruising on the mound, John Jay added a run in the top of the fourth on the RBI single from Kelly Fajardo.

In the top of the seventh with one out, Sandel, Bryant each had a singles before a two-out single up the middle from Paoli scored both Bryant and Sandel to make it 5-0.

Game 2 | John Jay 0, Farmingdale State 2

The Rams scored a run in their half of the second and third and that was all they needed as John Jay dropped the nightcap, 2-0.

The Bloodhounds were held to just one hit, a Sidney Bankston single up the middle in the top of the sixth. CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week Natalie Graham took the loss despite not walking a batter and striking out five.

Angelina Capuano and Kaysee Mojo had the RBIs for the Rams with Madison DeMaio earning her 17th win of the season.

The Bloodhounds will host St. Joseph's University - Long Island on Wednesday at Fordham University.
