New York, NY - The John Jay women's soccer team battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Alvernia on Saturday afternoon from Randall's Island - Field 74.

The Bloodhounds move to 4-2-2 on the season, while the Golden Wolves stand at 2-4-3.

The visitors drew first in the 25th minute when Tayler Flaherty booted a long-range strike that curled toward the bottom right of the net, past a diving Anina Gut as Alvernia took a 1-0 lead.

The Bloodhounds battled back in the contest and were rewarded with a goal in the 70th minute. Following a foul in the box, newcomer Sofia Soler stepped up and beat Emily Rossino to even the match at 1-1.
