Men's Soccer Falls At Bridgewater On Saturday Afternoon

Bridgewater, VA - The John Jay men's soccer team battled back to even the score just before halftime with a goal, but the Bridgewater College Eagles netted five second-half goals as the Bloodhounds dropped their final contest in Virginia by a 6-1 count.

John Jay falls to 1-4 on the season while Bridgewater moves to 3-1 on the year.

Brian Cuatianquiz netted his first career goal in the 43rd minute, slotting home a finish off an assist from Helmer Herrera to pull the Bloodhound level after Bridgewater opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a goal from Riley Queen.

The Eagles responded quickly after the break, reclaiming the lead three minutes into the second half as Anthony Eugenio scored, giving Bridgewater a 2-1 lead.

Bridgewater went on to add four more goals, with Aerian Hammond netting two scores, while Matthew Brand-Jimenez and Ian Lindsay added goals for the home team.

Bloodhound keeper Davio Rossilevin recorded nine saves against the Eagles' attack that generated 33 total shots, 18 of which were on target. John Jay was limited to nine shots with four on target as Bridgewater's Zane Kowalski made three saves in his 75 minutes of work before giving way to Isaac Arenas.

The Bloodhounds return home on Saturday, September 13, as they welcome Sarah Lawrence to Randall's Island - Field 70 for a noon kickoff.
