Women's Soccer Post Third Straight Shutout In Home Triumph Over St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn

New York, NY - The John Jay women's soccer team posted three first-half goals en route to their third straight shutout victory, blanking the visiting St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn Bears, 3-0, on Monday evening.

The Bloodhounds move to 3-0 on the season while the Bears dropped their season opener this evening.
John Jay wasted no time in asserting control as junior tri-captain Katy Shurson netted the first goal of the match seven minutes into the contest after receiving the feed from Jerlynn Castillo from the left side.

The Bloodhounds continued their offensive surge, as newly minted CUNYAC Player of the Week, Natalie Mack, found the back of the net in the 32nd minute as John Jay took a two-goal advantage.

A mere 33 seconds later, newcomer Yamile Bastidas got the pass from Mack and converted her first career goal.

The Bloodhounds challenged the Bears' keeper, Lindsay Dominguez, who made a total of 25 saves in the match after facing 46 total shots.

John Jay will hit the road for a three-match road swing, beginning Wednesday in Allentown, PA, when they square off against Cedar Crest at 7:00 p.m.
