West Point, NY - The John Jay rifle team faced North Georgia and MAC rival Coast Guard Academy in a split Sunday competition.
The Bloodhounds fell to North Georgia, 4678-4239, while earning a 4239-4069 triumph over Coast Guard.
In smallbore, JB Zhao led the quartet of shooters with 539 after hitting 12 centers.
Danny Canning recorded a 528 while
Allana Dan (507) and
Bryan Gomez (465) rounded out the field.
In the air rifle, Canning paced John Jay with a 567, connecting on 23 centers. Zhao was next at 554 with 18 centers connected. Dan posted a 547 (14 centers), followed by
Rahat Mujammil at 532 (9 centers), while Gomez rounded out the field (529).
Other notable scores for the Bloodhounds during the air rifle competition included Noelia Gonzalez, who fired a 517 (8 centers).
Hailey Goldstein posted a 516.
Albina Khabibullina and Faitha Jalal rounded out the scoring at 498 and 478, respectively.
The Bloodhounds return to West Point, NY, on Saturday, January 24, to compete against MAC conference opponents Maritime and the University of Rhode Island.
