West Point, NY - Returning to West Point, NY, for the second consecutive weekend, the John Jay rifle team competed against the University of Rhode Island and Maritime (air rifle only).
The Bloodhounds fell to the Rams by an aggregate score of 4452-4256.
Danny Canning led the way for John Jay in smallbore, firing a 528. JB Zhao was next at 517, followed by
Allana Dan, who shot a 515.
Cassidy Derosia finished at a 504 while
Bryan Gomez rounded out the five shooters with a 466.
In air rifle, Canning posted a third-place finish, shooting 567. Dan posted a season-high 559 to place fifth overall in the event. Derosia fired off a 535 while Zhao (531) and Rahat Muhammil rounded out the lineup for the Bloodhounds.
Other notable scores in air rifle included Noelia Gonzalez, who posted a 541, followed by Gomez, who shot 529.
Albina Khabibullina posted a 527.
Hailey Goldstein concluded the event with a 513 while Faitha Jalal shot a 500 on the day.
The Bloodhounds are scheduled to take on Maritime in smallbore competition on Friday, February 6, in Mt. Vernon, NY.
