Cambridge, MA - The John Jay rifle team commenced the 2026 MAC Rifle Championships, hosted by MIT, in smallbore competition. Mount Aloysius finished shooting a 2245, followed by the University of Rhode Island (2199), MIT (2177) as the top three teams. 

The Bloodhounds shot a total of 2017. John Jay was paced by Danny Canning, who fired a 532. Next was JB Zhao at 527. Fellow senior Bryan Gomez finished at 503 while Marian Kopram and Cassidy Derosia shot 455 and 445, respectively.

The competition continues on Sunday with air rifle competition.
