New York, NY - On Monday afternoon, the CUNY Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball awards with John Jay freshman infielder Jose Suero being tabbed Rookie of the Week, the league announced.

For Suero, this marks his first collegiate accolade.

CCNY's Rich Cirigliano was tabbed Player of the Week, while Baruch's Andrew Lapointe was named Pitcher of the Week.

The Jersey City, NJ native batted .545 (6 for 11) across five games last week with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

The former Hudson Catholic Regional standout stole three bases and went a perfect 4 of 4 against Old Westbury in game two at the plate.

Suero and the Bloodhounds close out the 2026 regular season Saturday when they host Lehman at Houlihan Park on the campus of Fordham University for Senior Day.
