Christopher DiCintio enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the men's basketball program. DiCintio will assist in all aspects of the program while focusing on strength and conditioning for the Bloodhounds. He and Odis Gause are the first former players to coach for Coach Hyland. 
 
DiCintio was a three -year starting guard for his high school varsity basketball team in Somers, NY.  During his final season, he was named captain of the team and helped lead them to an upset of the number one ranked team in NY state in the CHSAA class B.  The team went on to win double digit games before being eliminated in the playoffs to the eventual sectional champions in a buzzer beating defeat.  DiCintio was selected as an All League HM guard and received the Joe Carr award from the school for his outstanding tenacity and toughness in both football and basketball.  DiCintio also was a starting linemen on the school’s varsity football team that won the first and only State Championship in the school’s history. 
 
After graduating high school in 2018, DiCintio became a Bloodhound and played four years of collegiate basketball for the program finishing his career with 47 wins and 33 loses.  His leadership and dedication earned him the opportunity to be named a co-captain in his senior year by Coach Hyland.  In addition, DiCintio was named to the NABC men’s basketball honors court in 2021 for his outstanding achievement in the classroom.
 
DiCintio comes from a basketball family where his grandfather was inducted to his school’s Hall of Fame as a player, his dad has been a high school boys’ head coach for over two decades and his sister plays on scholarship at Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, NY.  DiCintio spends his off season running numerous youth basketball camps in his hometown while working at Planet Fitness and continuing his studies in criminal justice as a graduate student at John Jay College.
