    Assistant Coach/Administrative Assistant
Robert Walton is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the men's basketball team. He also serves the department as the Administrative Assistant since September 2019. 

Since joining the staff in 2016, Walton has held major roles in player development, scouting, film breakdown, day to day operations, administrative duties, practice planning, game preparation, and recruiting.
 
Walton is from Dallas, Texas and moved to New York City in August of 2013 to attend St. John's University. He received his Bachelor's of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. During his senior year, Walton interned as a student assistant coach for John Jay before being hired onto the staff following the season. As an intern, Walton attended daily practices and helped with on court coaching and player development. He also assisted with scouting and earned the responsibility of being the lead scout on multiple scouting reports. Walton also spent time shadowing assistant coaches on recruit campus tours along with handling recruiting administrative duties.
 
Since his promotion to assistant coach in the Spring of 2017, Walton has implemented player workouts that have developed Essien Epps and Doug Levy into All-CUNYAC players. He also handles day to day operations of the program, along with scouting and film sessions for the team. 
 
Prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, Walton took over as the team's Recruiting Coordinator. He handles all nationwide recruiting efforts for the team including scheduling recruit visits and leading campus tours, along with attending various high school events to evaluate talent. 
 
During the off season, Walton works elite camps at various colleges with the most recent being Columbia University and the University of Northern Colorado. He also has attended recruiting showcases throughout the tristate area, and has helped run two successful Bloodhound elite camps.
 
Walton attended St. Mark's School of Texas where he played varsity basketball for three years. He also played AAU basketball in many major tournaments including the Jayhawk Invitational and multiple Great American Shootouts.
