Sevag KetenijanĀ embarks on his first season as assistant coach of the John Jay men's basketball team. He enjoyed a nine-year professional playing career before shifting to coaching. Since 2018, he has coached multiple men's and women's programs in Lebanon and Armenia at the Division I, II, and youth levels.Ā 

In 2016, he was on the coaching staff of the Lebanese U18 National Team that was a win away from qualifying for the World Cup, finishing fourth behind South Korea.Ā 

From 2019-2021, he served as the Sports Director at his alma mater, Haigazian University, in Beirut, where he was directly responsible for all recruiting efforts while managing nine different sports teams.Ā 

In early 2021, he moved to the United States to continue pursuing his passion for coaching. He coached various youth teams at the local and AAU levels along the Tri-State area, including stops at Brooklyn Basketball Academy and Point Guard College.Ā 

In addition to his role at John Jay, he serves as the head coach at Success Academy U14 network basketball team in New York City. He is also the assistant coach to the Armenia Boys U16 National Team, as he embarks on his second season in that role. His team has participated in the European Division C Championship in 2021, finishing second overall.Ā 

Ketenijan is a FIBA and USA Basketball licensed coach. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Haigazian University in Human Resources Management. He graduated from the Euroleague Head Coaches Academy at the University of Belgrade in Serbia back in 2021.Ā
