Diane Ramirez

Diane Ramirez is in her sixth season as head coach of the Bloodhounds. 

Prior to coming to John Jay, Ramirez, a 2007 graduate of Baruch College, served as assistant coach for two seasons (2006-07, 2007-08) at Baruch College, a fellow City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) rival, where she helped lead the Bearcats to the conference championship game both seasons, including a win in 07-08.

Prior to that, Ramirez was a three year standout on the Baruch women’s basketball team (2003-06) where she helped lead the Bearcats to the program’s first ever conference championship during the 2005-06 season and earn a berth into the NCAA Division III tournament where they won their first round game, a 66-64 triumph over regional powerhouse Mt. St. Mary’s College.

As a player she was a team captain during her final two seasons and was a CUNYAC second team All-Star during those years. She set a then Baruch record for most assists in a career with 437 (5.2 per game) while netting 643 career points. In her three years with the Bearcats, Baruch posted an overall record of 58-27, including a 32-7 mark against CUNYAC foes. She also was a member of a CUNYAC Goodwill Tour women’s basketball team in 2004 that visited Ecuador.

Ramirez, a Queens, N.Y. native attended Francis Lewis High School, where she was team captain her senior year and led the program to the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) championship game at Madison Square Garden in 2001.

She resides in Sunnyside, N.Y.
