Lenore Donovan

Lenore Donovan is in her third season as head coach of the women's volleyball program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Prior to coming to John Jay Donovan had served as an assistant coach at Monroe College the past four seasons, and served as an assistant coach at Rockland County Community College before that.

A native of Central Valley, N.Y. Donovan is a 1993 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School where she was a four-year letter winner and helped lead the Lady Crusaders to a New York State semifinal appearance during the 1991 season, and was named team most valuable player during that season while controlling the setter position.

As a collegiate athlete, Donovan lettered for one season at Sullivan County Community College (1993) and another at Rockland County Community College (1995). While at Rockland County Community College, she was an all-regional first team selection. Donovan then transferred to Division I Long Island University, where she was a member of the Blackbirds for two seasons (1996-97).

She is an avid pool player as well, and has competed in various tournaments around the greater New York City area against many of the best pool players in the area.

Donovan resides in New York City.
