Box Score The women's volleyball team lost on senior night to King's College of PA, 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-16) on Friday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds end the season with an overall record of 5-20 (1-7 in CUNYAC) while the Monarchs wrap up their season, 14-12.
Before the game, the women's volleyball program and the Athletic Department honored five seniors;
Martina Hot,
Sandy Requeno,
Amanda Moreno,
Vanessa Caballero,
Shirley Manzano. Hot finished her John Jay career leading most statistical categories in program history.
Hot also led the Bloodhounds with 14 kills, nine digs, and one service ace. Junior
Katherine Bonilla dished out 18 assists to go along with seven digs and one service ace. Sophomore
Latanya Buckham recorded three kills, two service aces and nine digs. Sophomore
Perla Pozo added six digs and sophomore
Jeanette Luna registered a team-high two blocks.
"King's College has a strong volleyball program and we saw that tonight," head coach
Eder Mathelier. "We will hard in practice over the next few days and come out strong in the CUNYAC Championships."
The Bloodhounds have secured the #7 seed in the CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Championships. The team will head to #2 Hunter College on Tuesday, November 5, for a quarterfinals match at 6:00pm.
