Box Score The women's volleyball team defeated Sarah Lawrence College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-17), on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds pick up their first home victory and improve to 2-8 (1-3 in CUNYAC) while the Gryphons drop to 2-10 on the season.
Once again, senior
Martina Hot led the Bloodhounds with double digit kills (12), game-high six service aces, and eight digs. Junior
Katherine Bonilla finished with a double-double, recording a game-high 21 assists, game-high 11 digs, and two service aces. Sophomore
Qendresa Efendija chipped in with four kills and four digs. Juniors
Hakimah Lovell-McFee,
Ashley Diaz, and
Sandy Requeno registered three kills each. Sophomore
Latanya Buckham served up six service aces.
Kitty O'Sullivan led the way for the Gryphons with eight kills, four digs, and two service aces. Janet Tonyan also added 12 assists, three kills, and three service aces.
"I am very happy with how the girls played tonight," head coach
Eder Mathelier said. "We are finally coming together as a team and making strides in the right direction."
The Bloodhounds will head to Hunter College on Thursday, September 26 at 6pm for a match against the Hawks.
