The men's volleyball team split a multi-match on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds fell to Fontbonne University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-16), and then defeated Medgar Evers, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-10). John Jay is now 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in CUNYAC.Â
In the first match against the Griffins, sophomore
Jack Palleschi recorded seven kills and seven digs. Sophomore
Nicholas Anderson dished out 13 assists and picked up four digs and one service ace.
Yevgeniy Remennik added five kills and seven digs. Sophomore
Francisco Miranda and freshman
Carmelo Cintron Jr. each registered one service ace. Junior
Eric Li finished with the Bloodhounds lone block.
In the second match against the Cougars, Palleschi led the way with a game-high 18 kills, seven service aces, and one block. Remennik recorded seven kills, six digs and four service aces. Anderson added 27 assists and four digs. Cintron Jr. picked up three service aces and Miranda had four kills.Â
The Bloodhounds hit the road for a conference match on Thursday, February 20 at York College at 6pm.
