The women's volleyball team recorded their first conference win of the season, 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21), on Thursday evening against City College (CCNY). The Bloodhounds improve to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Beavers drop to 5-10 on the season and 2-3 in the conference.
Junior
Latanya Buckham and
Rachel Eng finished with double-doubles for John Jay. Buckham recorded 12 kills and 13 digs. Eng fell four service aces shy of a triple-double with 12 kills and a team-high 18 digs to go along with six service aces. Junior
Perla Pozo registered 17 digs and three service aces. Senior
Katherine Bonilla dished out a game-high 38 assists, to go along with nine digs and five service aces. Junior
Jeanette Luna added 10 kills and senior
Ashley Diaz had five kills and three digs.
CCNY's Leticia Marotti finished with 18 kills and 18 digs. Saye-Chantl Joseph recorded 13 kills and 15 digs.
The Bloodhounds head to Bard College for a tri-match on Saturday, September 27. John Jay will play Bard College at 1pm and Bay Path at 3pm.
